Open House offers artists natual inspiration

The residence in Buffalo, New York, designed by architect Sanksshep Mahendra gives a sense of openness. The open balconies with spaces to sit allow the residents to experience the natural setting.

"The Idea is to have openings to allow natural light in the house, with a backdrop of natural ventilation. The open terraces and balconies give a person feeling of being in nature, said Mahendra.

The 8,000-square-foot residence is a leisurely place for the clients, both artists. The balconies give a definite sense of views into the surroundings and help the mind wander. A basic requirement by the client was to encourage long distant views as they wanted to relax in their holiday home, hence called the Open House.
