The modern contemporary design of the building evolved the provision of a contemporary, flexible and sustainable family house at a cost of no more than £150,000. The thermal efficiency of the building was a primary concern due to the large expanses of glazing used in the scheme, but due to the small footprint of the site it was important that space was not lost through the use of thick cavity walls, the solution was the use of a S.I.P. panel construction, which was clad with a recycled glass Varotec board followed by a STO render. No steel beams were used and the house is a 100% timber construction.
Eco friendly, thermal efficient, sustainable family house
