BPA completes new social housing project in Katowice

Debowa social housing estate is located in the west part of Katowice, in the district Dab, near Voivodship Park of Culture and Recreation. The development consists of two buildings; one residential & commercial - complementary to the west frontage of the Debowa - and the other for residential use only, located further back within the plot. The residential & commercial building is attached to an early 20th century corner town house and honours its building line, but also accommodates itself to the curve of Debowa Street by creating shape reversals accordingly.

The building is raised on the southern side, providing a visual counterbalance to the high attic of the old corner town house. The residential building situated further back within the plot offers similar reversals as the front one, which helps to exhibit a historical villa enclosing an urban courtyard from the south. The housing estate consists in majority of 1-bed flats ranging from 42 to 46 sq m as well as some studio and 2-bed flats. Large 3-bed flats have been located in the elevating.
